2 of 2 people found the following review helpful Awesome performance and low power usage + Lifetime Warranty, By Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: VisionTek Products Radeon 7850 2GB DDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card 900505 (Personal Computers) I just got this card today and so far it is working great. I was in the market for a new card and the 7800 series just came out so I did my research and found the 7850 to be a great bang for the buck. I was hesitant at first about the Visiontek brand but I took a chance and the card is solid and seems to be top notch. It includes a lifetime warranty for which I have read good and bad about visionteks support. Lets hope I never have to use it. So far the card is performing flawlessly. I will update if anything changes.Pros - Performs in the range of a GTX 570 with anti-aliasing and antistropic turned on. - Super low power usage due to 28nm process. The closet competitor the GTX 560ti 448 uses also 100watts more on average then this card and the 570 uses even more then that. - Lifetime Warranty - Whisper Quiet even under load. Was worried not having seen any reviews of this specific card and it being single fan. - Runs fairly cool. - Single... Good for a Novice, Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: VisionTek Products Radeon 7850 2GB DDR5 PCI Express Graphics Card 900505 (Personal Computers) After installing this product and running it for about a month I have no problems. Everything seems to work very well, and I run all of my new games in top resolution 1980x1280. |
Offering excellent performance at an even keener price, SAPPHIRE HD 7850 OC shares the features of the HD 7000 family with Dual-X cooling technology, a highly efficient multi-heatpipe cooler with dual fans providing quiet and very cool operation during normal operating conditions, and superb cooling performance even under extreme load.

This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2 GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11200-01-20G (Personal Computers) I did some extensive research regarding bang for your buck in my choices of componentsfor a major hardware upgrade to my old desktop machine and the Sapphire HD 7850 OC edition seemed to warrant a closer look. I installed this card on a new Gigabyte Z68 motherboard along with a I5 2500K CPU, Coolermaster 212+ cooler and 8Gbs of Kingston Hyper x memory. The case was Micro ATX so I needed a card that would perform well in a small case and the Sapphire does that and then some. It runs quieter and cooler than any ATI/AMD graphics card Ive owned, so quiet in fact that I had to double check to see if the fans were even running. Even during game play I seldom hear the fans running on this card and temps at idle and under full load have been 26c and 58c respectively which I find impressive.Im getting excellent FPS on every game Ive thrown at it and I haven,t seen this cards full potential yet. AMD Overdrive allows for even higher clock speeds and... The RAM and GPU clock speeds are too low. When something uses hardware acceleration (so it goes from low clock speed to high) the change in frequency causes screen flickers and other issues (jerky movies, etc). They can be manually adjusted via Catalyst's configuration files, however unlike Gigabyte which have released a BIOS fix, Sapphire are yet to do so.Another issue I experienced with this card and something that can plague other mid to high end cards is that of coil whine. It's a buzzing, whiny noise when the card is performing something under medium to high load (such as playing games). It's relatively common and nothing to really worry about, however something to keep in mind. Cards with this aren't really defective as such, however most places allow returns as the sound can get annoying depending on where you have your PC positioned. The card did run games well though... This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC 2 GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11200-01-20G (Personal Computers) I am satisfied with this product so far. The performance is great, BF3 on ultra runs great and I have not had any problems with other games as of yet. Easy to install and very quiet, this card is definitely worth the cost. |
