Over-sized cooler keep card cool, same cooler that keeps it's bigger brother 7870 cool. Manufacturer is one of the biggest names in the industry 3 year full warranty (not partial warranty like MSI does) Cons: 10inch card. The actual PCB is only 8 inches long, but since ASUS reuses the bigger cooler from the 7870, you end with an artificially long card. This also looks weird (cooler/shroud stick outside of the PCB). Amazon pictures show the box for the "TOP" version of this card, but this just the regular version. No display port-HDMI adapters included, so triple monitor setups will incur additional out of pocket costs. If this card fits in your case, you don't mind the the whole "cooler is much longer the... Check out pcper.com and search HD 7850 review to see how this card stacks up against the competition, and you will get a more complete picture (no pun intended). But to summarize: at $250, this card destroys the Nvidia GTX 560ti ($230) and runs just short of the GTX 570 ($300-330) unless you overclock. The figures I'm using are valid at time of purchase. You can assume the lowest possible price either at Amazon or at a competitor. Further info. Pros: 1. power consumption. This card only draws about 130W on ONE 6-pin PCIe power cord, which is ridiculously low for its capabilities. A PCIe slot already provides a bit more than 70W, so the draw on the power supply is minimal. This means you can upgrade without spending a lot on a power supply (minimum 500W). The 570 needs either 2 PCIe 6-pins or a 6 and a 6+2 with 550w - 600w minimum power supply,... Unfortunately for me, my LCD's native resolution is 1360x768 so I have to choose that resolution which is considered a BASIC resolution in CCC. For any Basic resolution, the audio will cut out. One workaround would be to run a digital coax/optical from my MOBO to the receiver, but this adds an extra cable lol. I'm still just using my 5770 since I'm having a hard time justifying the price of a 6950 since you can find a 7850 for the same price. I'm holding out for the hope that AMD will release a driver fix, in which case I would repurchase the 7850. Or if Amazon would put out a deal on the LG 55LM7600, I would get that, rebuy this card, run 1080p, and call it a day. Update 2: Well my new receiver came, Denon 2312CI, and unfortunately that receiver experiences the same issue with the Sapphire 7850 as my Onkyo did, confirmed by testing in 2 different... This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2 GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11200-00-20G (Personal Computers) Everyone once in a while one of those video cards come out that can overclock like mad and hit much above what it's supposed to.. At stock 7850 is actually pretty weak for a $250 card considering its next-gen. It's better than the somewhat cheaper geforce 560Ti but not by much. And it's slightly slower than 570. To make things worse it's not really much better than the previous gen Radeon 6950. But the thing is amd has deliberately underclocked the 7850. That is because clock for clock the 7850 is only about 5% slower than the 7870. And the 7870 is a $300+ card. Surely, they couldn't allow the 7850 to have the higher 7870 clocks. Here's the deal if you overclock this card it would pretty much lay to waste most video cards this side of the gtx580. And here's why: 1. 7850 scales VERY linearly with clock. That means if you overclock by 20% your real-world performance in games jumps by 20%. 2. 1050mhz (22% overclock) is pretty much guaranteed...
